About Us
One cannot go far in our valley with out running into the native influence in the form of art, sculpture or totem poles. Duncan is called “The city of Totems”. A local carver is making silver jewelry depicting the alpaca and has adopted alpacas into his life. There is also interest in making Cowichan Sweaters out of alpaca yarn. The fiber industry is especially important to our large native population, one of the largest communities in Canada. The Cowichan people are the creators of the Cowichan sweater, which is an important trade for many families here in the valley.

We live and work off our farm, running a small engineering practice, bringing up our children and raising alpacas. Our farm is small. We have six acres and about fifty alpacas.
As a smaller farm we can concentrate on good foundation stock for our breeding programs. Our goal is to produce solid dark colored alpacas with a fine crimpy fiber and pounds of it. We have been raising alpacas for the past five years and feel comfortable with what we have learned so far, that learning curve doesn't seem as step as it once looked. The future is looking very bright.
We chose alpacas after a stint at breeding warm blood horses giving us a real appreciation for the easy and relative thrift of breeding and raising of alpacas. As each day goes by our animals show us new and wonderful things about their nature. They are such gentle quiet creatures singing their soft humming songs. We love just hanging out in the barn spending time with them.
Alex and Cali with mom Penny Lane two weeks old on Farm Tour day. Thank you Joan Rosene for the lovely picture and visiting our farm.
Jenn, cria (just born) and mom Keltie drying off in the sunshine. Keltie as proud as punch at her first cria and who can blame her!
Feel free to e-mail us at any time even if you are just curious. We enjoy speaking about these wonderful animals and never tire of
sharing our love and experiences about these truly unique and amazing creatures.
It is about the animals, the live style
and the enjoyment they bring to our lives.
