Pacific Sun Alpaca's Fibre Boys

What are fiber boys?

Only a very few males born are good enough to be kept for breeding. The males that do not fit into our breeding program for a number of reasons are sold at a reduced price as fiber producers only. Most of them sell for about the same as a dog. They do not come with papers and are not usually registered.

The other use for non-breeding males is as pet stock or in some cases as therapy animals. We sold a male as a therapy animal to be trained to work in old folk homes. They can travel in a Mini Van so are very easy to transport for school visits, community functions and what every you can think of. Not every alpaca will work well in a therapy situation. Alpacas that are friendly and like people are the ones you would seek out for this function. And yes we do have a couple that would fit do the job.

Some people just like the alpacas and would like a some for their hobby farm as something different, easy to look after, economical to feed and keep. Remember that alpacas are a herd animal and can not be kept by them selves. There are stories of alpacas actually dyeing because they were alone. So when you go to get them remember you must have at least two.

Geldings

Nicolas

Nicolas is looking for a home that will love him for his wonderfully warm personality. He is very well trained and would make a great children's pet. Along with his wonderful easy going character he also has great fiber stats with lots of Super soft usable fiber. Make a good companion for females and loves playing uncle to the crias. Nick has problems with his knees so we couldn't use him for breeding and decided to geld him so he could be with the girls. He his is dual registered and has great bloodlines. To approved home only please.

Mr. Accoyo Artemus

Artie is by Sandman and out of Tina. He was born in mid Aug. 2002 and was "cock or the walk" from day one. He is a mahogany brown with all black points, face, ears, eyes and feet. What is most special about Arty is his friendly out going personality and curiosity. He is first to check out anything new and knows no fears. He was never that interested in hanging out with his mom because he is to busy checking out the world around him. Arty would make an excellent therapy animal.

Bentley a real character and he sure loves his grain he makes a moaning sound and try's to get extra by sticking his head in the bucket. Bentley is a fiber boy because he has bent ears, it is really sad as his fiber is silky soft with incredible luster. Any one wanting a friendly and fantastically fleeced alpaca must take a second look at him!
